A science education centre located in the middle of a working medical laboraty. The Center of the Cell is a massive Orange Pod in the Blizard Institute in Barts and The London School of Medicine and Dentistry. You get to see reall life scientists at work and also learn about the amazing world of cells and the human body.

The centre aims to promote a healthy lifestyle and increase understanding of medical research. A series of educational events are run throughout the year that are both informative and a lot of fun, be sure to book early.


Each school session costs 125 + VAT and can accommodate up to 40 visitors (including accompanying adults). Prices for family events vary. Please check our website for more details

Opening Hours

Open Monday - Friday. During school hours the sessions are reserved for groups; for example school, home school and youth groups.
Outside of school time, Centre of the Cell is open to anyone.

Disabled access:

Centre of the Cell is fully accessible to wheelchair-users and also has disabled toilets
