If you want a great day out with the family why not try Orleans House which is the principal art gallery for the borough of Richmond upon Thames. This is a stunning building, set in secluded woodland gardens on a peaceful riverside road, with a rich and vibrant history from the baroque Octagon room, designed by renowned architect James Gibbs, to a gallery that has five temporary exhibitions each year covering both historical and contemporary art.

Children and adults a like can try out their own artistic talents at a number of pre-booked workshop that run throughout the year, or just enjoy the history of Marble Hill House and Ham House which are nearby. You can enjoy a day out at all of these amenities as they can be easily reached from London and the South East by road, rail, or even by boat.

Tuesday to Saturday 1 to 5.30pm
Sunday and Bank Holidays 2 to 5.30pm

Cafe' open Wednesday to Sunday 10:30am to 5:30pm.
Winter hours (October to March)

Tuesday to Saturday 1 to 4.30pm
Sunday and Bank Holidays 2 to 4.30pm

Cafe' open Wednesday to Sunday 10:30am to 4:30pm.
Gardens open at 9am until dusk.
