Museums in London

With over 200 museums London is a great place to take the kids for a fun day out that is also educational.

Aside from the obvious national museums like the Imperial War Museum, Design Museum, Science Museum etc. there are also a number of specialist museums that cater for a wide range of tastes such as the Florence Nightingale Museum or the London Canal Museum.

Most museums are free and the larger ones will take up to the best part of a day to see all the artifacts. Many will also have activities for the kids or children that will also keep the parents occupied. It is also worth checking before visiting to see if there are any extra/special exchibitions or talks on as well, particulary at the smaller museums during the holidays.
