Geraldine Mary Harmsworth Park

George's Road
go to website

The land was gifted to the people of Southwark by Viscount Rothermere in memory of his late mother, and the park first opened to the public in 1934.

The area surrounds the Imperial War Museum, originally established here to commemorate the appalling loss of life in the First World War.
In 1998 the Dalai Lama opened the Tibetan Peace Garden in the park, creating an ideal space for contemplation and reflection for visitors to the museum and the park.
