The William Morris Society and Museum are in the basement and Coach House of Kelmscott House, Hammersmith, Morris's London home for the last eighteen years of his life.

Today the Society's children's events, talks and other events are held in the Coach House. There were many aspects of William Morris's career. He is most known today for making wallpapers and textiles (including carpets) but he also made furniture, stained glass and ceramics with his company Morris and Co.

During his own lifetime he was a famous poet and he loved medieval books and poems. This led him to set up a private printing press movement called the Kelmscott Press.

Morris got most of his inspiration from nature and had a lot of repeating patterns in his designs.
