Forty Hall Country Park

Forty Hill Enfield
go to website

In 2002 Forty Hall Country Park was declared a National Nature Reserve and the sandstone canyons are a Site of Special Scientific Interest for their geology.

This wonderful amenity has some outstanding historic and heritage features that have been recognised and preserved for the benefit of the local residents of the Borough of Enfield and beyond. Rangers provide guided tours of the park, there are information and exhibits in Forty Hall Museum, plus activities at the farm and archaeological digs.

For the casual visitor, the waymarked routes allow you to stroll through woodland and grass meadow. You can wander along the rippling Turkey Brook past the site of one of Henry VIII's lost Palaces, or visit the more formal setting of the walled garden dating from the 17th century. The garden, with specimen trees and shrubs, was recently refurbished as a Coronation Garden to commemorate the Golden Jubilee of Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II.
