A fine open grassland corridor, with damp grass flood plain meadows. The important hedgerows and grasslands are managed by Council with the help of The 'Friends of Brook Farm Open Space'. The grassland is managed under a traditional 'cut and lift' management regime.
The Dollis Valley Green Walk passes through the open space and parts of the route are also a 'Cycleway'.

" We no longer live in the area however our sons do. My husband grew up in north finchley and played football with his school challoner for many years around the brook. also when our sons were young he managed a football team (Sundays) and often played in the brook. We live in the Balearic Ilse now but visit often. In January I walked with my grand daughter from Whetstone to Mays Lane Barnet. and was amazed what a wonderful open space it was. The weather wasn't good and freezing however I couldn't believe how lucky my sons are to have such a fantastic open space 5 mins from where they live. Some one council or whoever has ploughed money into it since we used it when the boys were younger. Money well spent in my opinion. Can't wait to return in better weather. Please all dog owners pick up your pooh. huge amount of dog walkers using it. wondering if their is another name for the area like the one in Edmonton is called Salmons Brook?"
