Here at kidsfuntowers there is some debate as to what constituted an ‘affordable day out’. Well a free one certainly does and there can be no better example of the great free things for kids to do in London than the 40 or so circus based workshops we have just listed for the various Islington Libraries. However, in these current times with government cuts pending is seems that more and more activities are becoming chargeable or going up in price, my local dads club for example has gone up from £1.50 a family to £2 per
child, though I consider this well worth the money to keep my three kids busy for two hours every Saturday morning and my wife would be willing to pay double this!!!
So, what’s affordable? well like all things in life its relative to your budget and circumstances, so to this end we try and list things that are affordable for the most part but also anything we think is fun, interesting and educational as well, all be it at an added cost. For example, a week long drama workshop at £30 a day would be considered expensive by most people, but if you need to spend a week decorating your bathroom during the summer holidays, having the nipper out of your hair for a week could constitute very good value.
