Surrey County Cricket Club have promised that children coming to watch cricket the Kia Oval this summer will never pay more than £1 to get in.
And with the sun shining and England stars Kevin Pietersen and Chris Tremlett set to play big hitting T20 cricket four times in five days next week – there is currently no better time for families to take advantage of this offer!
In all three formats of cricket played at the historic ground – including the popular and big hitting Friends Life t20 – U16 year olds will pay just £1 to watch Surrey’s exciting young side play in the heart of London.
With future England stars such as captain Rory Hamilton-Brown, Jason Roy, Steven Davies, Stuart Meaker and Jade Dernbach peppering their charismatic line-up, it is very likely to be a night well spent.
The club’s new price promise means that a night out watching a high octane game in the Friends Life t20 will cost a family of four just £42, a massive £138 cheaper than the same group watching a top Barclays Premiership game and exactly half the price of watching an Aviva Premiership Rugby Union match in London.
An afternoon watching reigning champions Surrey compete in a closely fought forty over match at the Kia Oval would cost the same family even less, only £32.
For those that, reasonably, think a trip to watch Surrey play cricket would involve a trek to Guildford, Reigate or even Woking – think again! Surrey play their home matches at the historic Kia Oval, in Kennington, perfectly positioned on the border of central London and its southern suburbs, just five minutes from both Oval and Vauxhall tube stations and incredibly well served by buses from Dulwich, Camberwell and London Bridge.
Surrey’s home games in the Friends Life t20 are as follows (all played at the Kia Oval with a 6.30pm:
Monday July 2nd – Hampshire Royals
Tuesday July 3rd – Sussex Sharks
Thursday July 5th – Kent Spitfires
Friday July 6th – Middlesex Panthers
Surrey’s home games in the Clydesdale Bank 40 are as follows (all played at the Kia Oval unless otherwise stated):
Sunday July 15th – Nottinghamshire Outlaws (1.45pm start. Played at Guildford CC, U16s cost £5)
Tuesday August 21st – Welsh Dragons (3.40pm start, Floodlit)
Advance tickets for all matches are available at kiaoval.com. Tickets can also be bought at the stadium on the day of the match, although adult tickets are £5 more expensive in this instance.
